PET CARE FROM OUR DELAND VETERINARIAN
Here at Spring Oaks Animal Care Center, our Deland veterinarian and team takes great pride in serving the surrounding areas of Deland, Orange City, and Lake Helen. If you have a pet, then it’s important to have a vet you can trust to come up with a custom pet wellness program that you can follow to ensure your pet leads a happy and healthy life. Pet wellness and preventative care are just a couple of the many services we’re able to provide in our office.
PET WELLNESS AND PREVENTATIVE CARE SERVICES
The most basic component of pet wellness care is the comprehensive wellness exam, which we highly recommend for pets at least once a year. For older pets, we might recommend exams more frequently, such as twice a year. These exams allow us to stay on top of any changes in your pet’s health and spot any possible red flags of disease or other medical conditions before they progress too far.
In addition to regular wellness exams, we also recommend preventative care services to protect your pets from disease, illness, viruses, and pests. For example, as part of each wellness exam we provide in our office, we will also take the time to review your pet’s records and make any recommendations for vaccinations that are overdue or near overdue. We can then administer any necessary vaccines to your pet in just a matter of minutes. Click here for more information on vaccinations.
Furthermore, if your pet isn’t already on a flea, tick, and parasite prevention medication, we recommend speaking with our veterinary team about this. Even if you have a strictly indoor pet (such as a cat), these medications can provide you with the additional peace of mind and protect you need.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PET WELLNESS CARE
Even when your pet doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of illness, it’s important to keep up with routine wellness and preventative care. Unfortunately, without these routine exams and preventative services, your pet will be more likely to fall ill. Furthermore, by the time you notice symptoms of a potential medical problem and bring your pet into our office, there is also a chance that the problem will have already progressed to the point that treatment may not be as effective.
With an annual exam, we can keep an eye out for signs of problems you may not otherwise notice. Furthermore, if we do have any concerns, we can provide any necessary diagnostic testing here in our office. This includes anything from blood work and X-rays to ultrasounds and everything in between. We have the resources to handle it all here.
If your pet is overdue for an exam, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment with our veterinarian in Deland. Our team at Spring Oaks Animal Care Center is here to provide the wellness and preventative care your pet needs for a healthier life. Call us today at (386) 736-6747.
